WE’RE BUILDING A NEW
CAR COMPANY
To our valued customers:
On April 30, Chrysler LLC entered into a “structured” chapter 11 bankruptcy. This “structured” process enables Chrysler to expedite the reorganization with it’s creditors in a more timely fashion. Normal time frames could last years, but Chrysler intends to emerge from the bankruptcy in 30 to 60 days. The bankruptcy will allow Chrysler to alleviate some bad liabilities and restructure its entire organization through concessions from employees, suppliers, dealers and creditors. Chrysler intends to sell it’s valued assets to a new Chrysler company along with an alliance with Fiat. With Fiat’s technology of small car platforms, high mpg vehicles, and Chrysler’s quality, manufacturing and distribution capabilities, the new Chrysler will be vibrant and prosperous for the future.
One aspect of the bankruptcy was to reduce the number of dealerships by 25%. The primary reason for the downsizing was due to the overall environment of the automotive industry. The national sales rate of all new vehicles, not just Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge, is off 35% to 45%. It would be hard to sustain profitability and viability for all dealerships in the future under the current system. The new Chrysler Company has developed a network of dealerships to move forward with them. I am pleased and honored to inform you that your dealership, Tate Chrysler Frederick Inc., was selected to be one of the dealerships to move forward with the new Chrysler Company. We thank you; our customers for help making us a viable dealership that the new Chrysler Company wants to keep in their network. If you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call or stop by and visit your professional team, where they strive to exceed your expectations.
Thank you for your patronage,
Sam Hall
